Brisbane buyer’s agents, Property Pursuit, have a vision for their business – to be the most respected buyers’ agency in Brisbane.
Last month Property Pursuit moved a step closer to achieving that vision after it was awarded Buyers’ Agency of the Year at the Real Estate Institute of Queensland’s Awards for Excellence.
“This is the first year that the Buyers’ Agency of the Year category has existed so we are incredibly excited to win in the inaugural year,” said Director Meighan Hetherington.
“To be independently judged by our peak industry body using criteria that is objectively assessed, rather than a popularity poll, is extremely important to us as a business.
“Back in 2003, I became a buyers’ agent largely because I saw how ill-informed many buyers were about the buying process,” she said.
“I could see that many sellers of real estate were well represented but no-one was representing buyers and I could see the opportunity was there to help people make better buying decisions.”
In 2008, Jason Hetherington joined his wife as a partner at Property Pursuit with a focus on expanding the services offered to clients. After establishing a finance brokerage division, he went on to grow a healthy property management division to cater for the needs of Property Pursuit’s investment clients.
“We are really honoured to receive this award, it is true recognition of the hard work and dedication that our staff show each and everyday,” he said.
“It’s a tough industry and you never really turn off when you go home.
“Sometimes property negotiations go well into the evening or a tenant calls with an urgent maintenance issue but it’s worth it just to see how much of a difference we make in people’s lives.”
Now in its 14th year of business, the multi award winning Property Pursuit team have been involved in more than 600 property transactions in Queensland for home buyers and investors and currently manage 214 properties for investors. The team which consists of 11 team members and three business partners, credits their success to a genuine commitment to caring about their clients, and the people they do business with.
Speaking after winning the award, lead buyer’s agent and partner, Nathan Wunsch, said the award carries a great deal of credibility within the industry and with clients.
“There is a distinct feeling of camaraderie that comes from sharing this experience with other real estate professionals,” he said.
“To share the room with so many other enthusiastic people from the industry is a real honour.”
