For someone who’s made a profession out of putting a roof over people’s heads, REBAA president Rich Harvey has found a worthy reason to sleep on the streets.
For the 6th year running Rich will be joining business and community leaders from around Australia to take part in the 2017 Vinnies CEO Sleepout, raising awareness and vital funds to support services for the more than 105,000 Australians who experience homelessness on any given night of the year.
The face of homelessness is changing and now sadly encompasses an increasing number of women, families and children.
More than 40 per cent of those experiencing homelessness are women, and over 17,000 children under the age of 12 do not have a stable place to call home in Australia.
“It’s a privilege to help Vinnies raise money for those on the street,” says Rich.
“If, like me, you agree that these staggering figures are simply not acceptable, you can help make a difference.
“It is up to all of us to respond to homelessness and help the most vulnerable in our society from becoming another statistic.”

The 2017 Vinnies CEO Sleepout is a national initiative and will take place in Sydey on Thursday 22 June at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
