The Real Estate Buyers Agents Association of Australia (REBAA) has elected a new President.
Brisbane buyer’s agent, Melinda Jennison, was elected President at the REBAA Annual General Meeting yesterday and was formerly the association’s Queensland state representative.
Outgoing REBAA President Cate Bakos decided to step down after four years at the helm of the association.
“I’m thrilled to congratulate Melinda, and I have utmost confidence that she will lead the organisation admirably alongside an amazing leadership team,” Ms Bakos said.
“Melinda operates a superb buyers agency business and has demonstrated a high level of care for her clients and an impressive ability to lead people.
“I wish her a successful and exciting tenure leading the helm of our wonderful organisation.”
Ms Jennison said she looked forward to assisting new entrants in the industry and expanding the training and professional development opportunities available for buyer’s agents.
“I’m thrilled to receive the support from members to carry on the legacy that all past presidents and committee members have created, and to lead REBAA through what will be an exciting 12 months,” Ms Jennison said.
“I look forward to nurturing new entrants to the industry to ensure they have access to training and skill development opportunities to ensure minimum standards for buyer’s agents across our country are maintained.
“I’m passionate about the real estate industry within Australia and am very excited to be leading the peak body representing the members of our association.”
Coming from a research background, Melinda completed a PhD in 2001, and moved into real estate with involvement in the building and construction industry as well as property development, before embarking on her career as a buyer’s agent and advocate.
Brisbane buyer’s agent Zoran Solano was also elected REBAA Vice-President at the AGM.
